Percolation in a dependent random environment

چکیده
Draw planes in IR 3 that are orthogonal to the x axis, and intersect the x axis at the points of a Poisson process with intensity ; similarly, draw planes orthogonal to the y and z axes using independent Poisson processes (with the same intensity). Taken together, these planes naturally deene a randomly stretched rectangular lattice. Consider bond percolation on this lattice where each edge of lengthìs open with probability e ?` , and these events are independent given the edge lengths. We show that this model exhibits a phase transition: for large enough there is an innnite open cluster a.s., and for small all open clusters are nite a.s. We prove this result using the method of paths with exponential intersection tails, which is not applicable in two dimensions. The question whether the analogous process in the plane exhibits a phase transition is open.

On Which Graphs Are All Random Walks in Random Environments Transient?
An infinite graph G has the property that a random walk in random environment on G defined by i.i.d. resistances with any common distribution is almost surely transient, if and only if for some p < 1, simple random walk is transient on a percolation cluster of G under bond percolation with parameter p.
متن کاملLimit Theory for Random Walks in Degenerate Time-dependent Random Environments
We study continuous-time (variable speed) random walks in random environments on Zd , d≥ 2, where, at time t, the walk at x jumps across edge (x,y) at time-dependent rate at(x,y). The rates, which we assume stationary and ergodic with respect to space-time shifts, are symmetric and bounded but possibly degenerate in the sense that the total jump rate from a vertex may vanish over finite interva...
متن کاملInvasion Percolation in Presence of Gravity
Simultaneous capillary dominated displacement of the wetting and non-wetting phases are processes of interest in many disciplines including modeling of the penetration of polluting liquids in hydrology or the secondary migration in petroleum reservoir engineering. Percolation models and in particular invasion percolation is well suited to characterize the slow immiscible displaceme...
متن کاملStationary Measures for Random Walks in a Random Environment with Random Scenery
Let act on a countable set V with only nitely many orbits Given a invariant random environment for a Markov chain on V and a random scenery we exhibit under certain conditions an equivalent stationary measure for the environment and scenery from the viewpoint of the random walker Such theorems have been very useful in investigations of percolation on quasi transitive graphs
متن کاملQuenched invariance principle for random walks in balanced random environment
We consider random walks in a balanced random environment in Z , d ≥ 2. We first prove an invariance principle (for d ≥ 2) and the transience of the random walks when d ≥ 3 (recurrence when d = 2) in an ergodic environment which is not uniformly elliptic but satisfies certain moment condition. Then, using percolation arguments, we show that under mere ellipticity, the above results hold for ran...
متن کاملStationary Measures for Random Walks in aRandom Environment with Random
Let ? act on a countable set V with only nitely many orbits. Given a ?-invariant random environment for a Markov chain on V and a random scenery, we exhibit, under certain conditions, an equivalent stationary measure for the environment and scenery from the viewpoint of the random walker. Such theorems have been very useful in investigations of percolation on quasi-transitive graphs.
